Step 2

The implementation of an ECO-School project goes through the following stages:

1. Once schools have completed their project plans, they must submit the same to the ECO-Schools Approval Team through the ECO-Schools website for approval of the proposed/existing projects.
2. The Committee will download the proposed Project Plan/s to evaluate them as either an “Approved” or “Review” project. 
   The ECO-Schools Approval Team decides and advises the School as per its assessment on the Project Plans value and contribution to the environment, which if met, means the school can implement the project.  In case it is sent for Review, the Project Plan will be sent back to the School for revision along with the ECO-Schools Committee advice 
3. The same process flow applies for either New or Existing Projects however; they only differ after the ECO-Schools Committee Initial Approval stage.
   
   Once the project is approved:
   New Project
   Schools can proceed with the implementation of the proposed Project Plan, ensuring that they have recorded their baseline and begin monitoring.
   Existing Project
   Schools to begin recording, documenting and taking pictures of the project if they have not done so already.
4. Once schools have achieved their goal, be it a timeframe or target, the nominated school Representative is to submit all the evidences using the “Progress Report Form” along with the supporting documents.
   NOTE: Goals, Target and Timeframe to be used for school's self-audit in their own self-assessment evaluation.
5. ECO-Schools Approval Team to review the evidences and progress. Actual physical inspection and audit on the progress report will be done by the ECO-Schools Committee.
6. In case further improvement is required, the school will be advised by the Committee on how it can improve its performance results

Once Approved, the appropriate ECO-Star will be awarded to the school. The same process applies for all  school projects.
